Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The adsorption coefficient on soil (Koc) of dodecanedioic acid the read across for Corfree M1 was determined using the HPLC method according to OECD guideline 121 (2001) and EU test method C.19 (2008). The results were:
Koc = 79 / log Koc = 1.9 (undissociated)
Koc = 40 / log Koc = 1.6 (dissociated)
Blume scale: "very low" (Koc 1 - 100)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
1.9

Additional information

KOCWIN v2.00 as integrated in EpiWin Version 4.1 (first-order molecular connectivity index (1-MCI) method), Syracuse Research Center / U.S. EPA. The soil sorption coefficient of dodecanedioic acid was QSAR calculated to be Koc = 845.5 (log Koc = 2.927). This corresponds to a "medium" potential for geoaccumulation (Blume scale). In the environment the geoaccumulation potential will be further decreased because the acidic properties of the substance (see 4.21) will lead to dissociation in the aqueous phase, leaving only the undissociated form for adsorption equilibria. PCKowWin Version 1.66 Model result: Koc = 845.5; log Koc = 2.927 "medium" potential for geoaccumulation (Blume scale)
