Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One study on algal toxicity is available for 2-Butenedioic acid (2Z)-, reaction products with ammonium di-µ3-hydroxyhexacosa-µ-oxododecaoxo¬dodecatungstate(6-) (6:1), ammonium octa-µ-oxodi-µ3-oxo-µ4-oxododecaoxoheptamolybdate(6-) (6:1), nickel(2+) nitrate (1:2) and nickel(2+) sulfate (1:1). This key study was performed according to OECD Guideline 201 using Desmodesmus subspicatus as test organism (Muckle, 2013). As the solubility of the test substance lies below 100 mg/L, a stock solution was prepared by weighing the nominal load of 9.8 mg/L, adding the corresponding amount of dilution water and shaking vigorously for 24 hours. The resulting solution was filtrated through 0.45 µm filters (refering to a water accommodated fraction WAF). Four lower concentrations were prepared by dilution of this solution. Analytical measurements were prepared by determination of Tungsten, Molybdenum and Nickel concentrations at the start and the end of the test period. Based on growth rate inhibition, an ErL50(72 h) of 2.3 mg/L and a NOELR of 0.36 mg/L (nominal, WAF) was derived.
