Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the skin and eye irritating potential of the test substance is only available as secondary source (ECB-IUCLID, 2000, Val. 4):

Skin irritation

In one study, 500 mg of test substance was applied on the ear of rabbits under semiocclusive conditions for 24 hours. The animals were observed for 7 days. No irritation was observed and no further details were given (Bayer 1979). The second study revealed no skin irritating properites of the test substance. No more details were given (Marhold 1972). No definite prediction was possible from the BfR rules for skin irritation in the OECD toolbox, since the substance fulfilled each two criteria for inclusion and exclusion in the category of skin irritants.

Eye irritation

In one study, 50 mg of the test substance per animal was applied and the animals were observed for 7 days. This test revealed no irritating properties. No further data was given (Bayer 1979).

A second study revealed slighty irritating properties of the test substance when applied to rabbits (Marhold 1972). No further details were given. This information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Dangerous Substance Directive (67/548/EEC)

Based on the available data of the test substance, classification for skin and eye irritation under Directive 67/548/EEC is not warranted.

Classification, Labeling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008

Based on the available data of the test substance, classification for skin and eye irritation under Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 is not warranted.
