Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In the key study (Sipos, 2013e) the toxicity of the test material to freshwater algae was determined in a growth inhibition test conducted under GLP conditions and in line with the standardised guidelines OECD 201, EU Method C.3, EPA OPPTS 850.5400 and Japanese MAFF (2-7-3). Based on the findings of a preliminary toxicity Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata were exposed to the test material at nominal concentrations of 12.0, 20.4; 34.6; 58.8 and 100.0 mg/L for 72 hours under static conditions. Analytical verification of the test concentrations showed that the test material absorbed to the increasing algal biomass. Therefore effect concentrations were reported in terms of nominal concentrations.

With respect to the inhibitory effect of the test material, the 0-72 h average specific growth rates, areas and yield were significantly different from those of the control group in the examined concentration range of 20.4 - 100.0 mg/L (nominal). Based on these findings the following effect parameters were determined for growth rate: EC50 = 61.88 (95 % confidence limits 55.14 – 69.45mg/L), NOEC = 12.0 mg/L and LOEC = 20.4 mg/L. The EC50 va;ues for yield and biomass were determined to be 30.03 (95 % confidence limits 27.75 – 32.50) mg/L and 36.93 mg/L (95 % confidence limits 33.87 – 40.27 mg/L), respectively.
