Three tests were performed, each in triplicate, varying the amount of methyl lactate solution that was introduced into the auto-ignition chamber. The reported auto-ignition temperature is the lowest temperature at which auto-ignition was recorded (rounded).

Commercially available auto-ignition temperature apparatus was used for the determination of the degree of auto-ignitability of PURASOLV®ML (methyl-S-lactate). The test substance is auto-ignitable with an auto-ignition temperature at 1006.7-1016.3 hPa of 440°C.
