Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air; in case of indisposition

seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water; if irritation occurs, seek

medical advice

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment; in case of indisposition seek medical

advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see

"handling"). Solids: sweep up avoiding dust formation (wet

powders with  water or use an approved industrial vacuum

cleaner) and place in suitable containers for disposal.

Liquids: absorb using an adequate absorbent (such as

kieselgur, sand, saw dust), collect and place in suitable

containers (labelled according to TRGS 201) for disposal.

Dispose of waste material in authorized incineration

facilities.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Do not eat, drink or smoke when working. Wash hands before

breaks and after work.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: No special

measures required.

Respiratory protection: In case of formation of

vapours/aerosols: Short term: filter apparatus, filter A-P2.

Hand protection: PVC gloves.

Eye protection: goggles with side pieces.

Skin and body protection: light protective clothing.

Static discharges must be avoided, e.g. thorugh earthing of

containers, apparatus, pumps and extraction devices.

Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed, labelled

according to the regulations and secure containers in

adequate rooms at room temperature. The containers should be

secured against falling.

Avoid residues outside the containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Adequate plastic containers: Big-Bags (ca 500 kg)

cardboard folding box with PE inliners: 15-30 kg

(Wellpappfaltkiste mit PE Inliner)

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Normal application results in the consumption of ca.

98,5 % by irreversible binding to the polyester. Recovery or

recycling of the remaining test substance is

not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No suitable method known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not suitable for deposit in landfill site.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Code: 661

Incineration with flue gas scrubbing.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Removal by controlled discharge to a waste water treatment

plant. It is estimated that approx. 1,5 % of the total

quantity used is discharged into internal industrial

effluents as highly diluted solution. A purification of

the waste water in a waste water treatment plant is

recommended. The dyestuff should be used in a well

equiped dyehouse.

If necessary the waste water can be purified prior to the

waste water treatment by membrane filtration or by

floculation with cationic agents or by treatment with ozone.

The most effective method is the membrane filtration: more

than 99 % of the remaining dyestuff can be removed from the

waste water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable
