First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15

minutes. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water. If irritation

develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, water spray, alcohol foam or dry powder may

be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

water.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see section 2.3.10).

Evacuate the area. Eliminate sources of ignition. Absorb

spilt substance on chemically inert material (sand, sawdust,

earth etc.). Sweep up, avoid raising a dust and place in

labelled containers for disposal. Dispose of by incineration

or at a landfill site in accordance with local regulations.

Wash spill site with water and retain washings for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid skin and eye contact. Goggles, gloves and full

protective clothing should be worn. Gloves and protective

clothing should be of PVC, neoprene or butyl rubber.

If vapour is likely to be liberated or aerosols produced,

wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool dry place away

from sources of ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 250-litre phenolic lacquer-lined steel drums.
