Executive summary:

The acute toxicity of the test substance was assessed in marine water with the marine copepod Acartia tonsa according to ISO 14669 (1999) Water Quality - Determination of acute lethal toxicity to marine copepods (Copepoda; Crustacea). The test concentration was based on the range finding study.

A total of 20 animals per treatment were exposed to 10, 32, 100, 320, or 1000 mg/L of test substance for 48 hours. The control mortality was 5.13% (2 out of 39 animals). The 48 hour NOEC was 100 mg/L and the 48 hour LC50 was 215.65 (193.05-239.02) mg/L. Acidgen FG3 exhibited a 48h LC50 value of 215.65mg/L (dilution series) to the marine copepod Acartia tonsa in the aqueous phase.
