Tests with Ethanol, 2,2'-[1,2-ethanediylbis(oxy)]bis-, reaction products with 3-(triethoxysilyl)-1-propanamine in water with the intent to determine effective concentrations or no effect concentrations cannot be performed for technical reasons based on the chemical properties of the monomers of the UVCB. Stability tests in water the with ethanol reaction product have shown that it immediately polymerises/condensates to a variety of polymeric/oligomeric Si-O-Si moieties, while releasing ethanol ("sol-gel chemistry"; cf. Henkel Report 17-09302-2, Henkel Report 16-17233/17-00685). Therefore, toxicity testing with the Ethanol, 2,2'-[1,2-ethanediylbis(oxy)]bis-, reaction products with 3-(triethoxysilyl)-1-propanamine is not feasible.
