Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: In case of excessive inhalation remove the person to the

fresh air and keep at rest in a comfortable position. Obtain

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately rinse eyes with plenty of water. Obtain medical

advice immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off skin with plenty of soap and water if available. If

any sign of irritation is apparent, obtain medical advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. drink a glass / cup of water or

milk. Do not induce vomiting. Obtain medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, dry chemical.

Product arising from burning: Depending on the oxygen supply CO2/CO, smoke and soot

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: No special protective equipment necessary

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Small spillages should be absorbed onto porous inert

material such as sand, earth or vermiculite and disposed of

in accordance with local regulations. Large spillages should

be contained by the use of sand or other inert material,

transferred to a suitable container and recovered or

disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Any

combustible material such as cloth used for cleaning

spillages should be disposed of promptly, preferably by

incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin, wear suitable gloves and glasses.

Avoid sources of ignition.

Storage: Cool and dry, preferably at a temperature around 15 degrees

C, and out of direct sunlight.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Fleuroxene is an aroma chemical and will be blended with a

number of other materials to produce a wide range of

fragrances. once blended it will be impossible to recover

Fleuroxene from the mixture.

Spillages of pure Fleuroxene could be recovered by

distillation once suitable recovery techniques had been

employed.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Fleuroxene is classed as a skin irritant and thus suitable

gloves and protective clothing should be worn when handling

this material. Washing with soap and water should help to

neutralise any effects from accidental skin contact.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: As Fleuroxene is not readily biodegradable and is classified

as toxic to aquatic organisms it should not be flushed to

the drains.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Fleuroxene should be disposed of by incineration. no special

techniques are required as no hazardous combustion products

are expected.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: When incorporated into fragrances of final consumer products

there is little possibility of recovering this material.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: As Fleuroxene will be used in products intended for use by

the general public it should be utilised in such a way as to

eliminate its potential to cause skin irritation. Any

product containing Fleuroxene at levels over 1% should be

clearly marked as having the potential to cause skin

irritation.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Consumer products will only contain low levels of Fleuroxene

and should thus be suitable for disposal by land fill.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Depending on the nature of the consumer product incineration

is the recommended method of disposal for Fleuroxene.
