Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
hydrolysis
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable
Justification for type of information:
According to REACH Regulation (Annex VIII, column 2) the study on hydrolysis does not need to be done if the test item proved to be readily biodegradable. Data on the biodegradability of N6-(1-oxododecyl)-L-lysine are not available. But results obtained from structural similar substances are available: Acylglycinate GCK-11-T proved to be readily biodegradable (biodegradation within the 10-day-window: 82.5 %) and AMIHOPE LL showed more than 90% biodegradation in a 12.5-day biodegradation study. Based on these results it can be assumed that Lauroyl L-lysine is readily biodegradable and therefore testing of hydrolysis is not necessary.
