Description of key information

CYA does not hydrolyse and will therefore be released to environmental compartments.However, CYA can be shown to biodegrade under a wide variety of natural conditions, particularly in systems with either low or zero dissolved oxygen level such as anaerobic activated sludge and sewage, soils, manure / slurry, muds, muddy streams and river waters.

Additional information

Cyanuric acid is stable to hydrolysis, but degrades rapidly under anaerobic conditions.
