Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
hydrolysis
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water
Justification for type of information:
The water solubility of C.I. Solvent Red was empirically determined to be less than 1.0E-4 g/L at 20.0 °C using the flask method (OECD 105). Furthermore, Quantitative Structure Activity Relationships for various representative structures of C. I. Solvent Red (i.e. varying the number of C12 alkyl groups 1-6) indicated that water solubility ranged from 9.43E-13 to 6.52E-44 mg/L at 25 °C (WSKOW v1.42). Thus, the test material is highly water insoluble, and hydrolysis testing is not technically feasible and is therefore waived.

Description of key information

Since the water solubility of the test material is so low (i.e. ranging from 9.43E-13 to 6.52E-44 mg/L), hydrolysis testing is not technically feasible and is waived.
