Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Aquatic acute toxicity

48 h, EC50 (Daphnia magna): 7.98 mg/L (mean measured concentration)

72 h, ErC50 (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 13.8 mg/L (initial measured concentration)

Aquatic chronic toxicity

72 h, ErC10 (Pseudokirchneriella subcapita): 2.78 mg/L (initial measured concentration)

Biodegradation: Not readily biodegradable: 2 % (% degradation O2 consumption) after 28 days, maximum 5% degradation after 14 days (OECD 301 D). 7.5% degradation after 28 days (BODIS test)

Partition coefficient:log Kow = 5.0

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The test substance was found to be not readily biodegradable (2011, 1996). The test item has a lowest EC50 of > 1 to ≤ 10 mg/L for aquatic invertebrates (2017). The lowest EC10 is > 1mg/L for algae. Based on these results, the substance is not classified as aquatic acute toxicity and based on these results the substance is classified as aquatic chronic category 2 according to table 4.1.0 of Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and as H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects, according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the eighth time in Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1688.
