Magnesium dimetaphosphate (CAS 13573-12-1) is an inorganic magnesium and phosphate salt, which does not undergo biodegradation. In release to water the dissolved substance dissociates to magnesium ion and metaphosphate ion which undergoes further hydrolysis to phosphate species. As elements magnesium and phosphorus are persistent in environment. Photodegradation is not relevant for the substance.
