Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Calculation of log Koc:
For calculation of the soil adsorption coefficient (koc) of 3-Nitro-p-cresol the EPI (Estimation Programs Interface) Suite™, a Windows®-based suite of physical/chemical property and environmental fate estimation programs developed by the EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention Toxics and Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC), was used.
Results log Koc:
Soil Adsorption Coefficient (KOCWIN v2.00):
Koc : 476.1 L/kg (MCI method)
Log Koc: 2.678 (MCI method)
Koc : 328.7 L/kg (Kow method)
Log Koc: 2.517 (Kow method)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
476.1

Additional information

The adsorption coeffcient log Koc of 3 -Nitro-p-cresol was determined by a non-experimental calculation reliable QSAR method.

According to the EPI SUITE User's Guide, the MCI methodology is somewhat more accurate than the Log Kow methodology, although both methods yield good results.

No further testing is required.
