Toxicity to terrestrial plants:

In the publication of Carrasco, 1979 the growth inhibition of tomato for 3 days was determined. Treatment up to 0.04 M (7.68 g/l) quinic acid does not affect growth. Thus, quinic acid is not phytotoxic.

Toxicity to birds:

The acute oral toxicity of quinic acid to Agelaius phoeniceus was shown. From this study it is shown, that the LD50, tested on

Agelaius phoeniceus is > 100 mg/kg bw.
