Additional information

Short-term toxicity to fish: There are three GLP studies on acute toxicity of zinc, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes and melamine to fish following OECD 203. Each study reported of no effects at the limit test concentration (LC 50 > 100 mg/L, LL 50 > 6.19 mg/L (TWA )).

Short-term toxicity to invertebrates: The acute toxicity of zinc, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes and melamine to daphnia magna was investigated in a semi-static GLP study following OECD 202. The study reported of no effects after 48 hours of exposure at the limit test concentration (EC50 of >5.38 mg/L, EL 50 of >100 mg/L).

Toxicity to aquatic algae: The toxicity of zinc, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes and melamine to algae was tested in a GLP study following OECD201. The study reported of no effects after 72 hours of exposure at the limit test concentration (ErC50 >6.84 mg/L, ErL50 >100 mg/L, NOEC > 100 mg/L).

Toxicity to micro-organisms: Zinc, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes and melamine was exposed to activated sludge of domestic sewage treatment plant in a GLP study following OECD 209. The study reported of no effects after 3 hours of exposure at the limit test concentration (EC50 > 1000 mg/L, NOEC > 1000 mg/L).
