Additional information

To save animal life, no separate acute oral toxicity testing was done. Information are available from a oral repeated dose toxicity study, where flue dust was tested as part of the animal diet. Even with the highest tested dose (1848 mg/kg bw in the dose range find study) no mortality was observed. So it is assumed that in a single acute toxicity test, even a dose of 2000 mg/kg bw will not implicate mortality.

In an acute dermal toxicity study in rats with Flue Dust, no deaths occured at the limit dose of 2000 mg/kg bw. Therefore, the LD50 for acute dermal toxicity is > 2000 mg/kg bw.

From an acute inhalation toxicity study in rats with Flue Dust, it was concluded that the 4-hour LC50 for Flue Dust is above 6.04 g/m³ for male and female rats.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available information indicates that Flue Dust is not acutely toxic. Therefore, classification for acute toxicity is not warranted.
