Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to published literature (Sorokin, 1966), K2TiF6 is thermally stable at least up to 400°C, with some phase transformation and conversion to oxi-fluorides and oxides happening at higher temperatures. One publications (Chernov, 1973) states a definitive melting point at 899°C. The figure reported in the Gmelin Handbook of inorganic chemistry (cited from Ginsberg,H., 1932) of ca. 780°C is selected as the key value for the chemical safety assessment.
