Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A test on the flammability according to EC method A.10. yielding a result of “not flammable”.
2-ethylhexanoic acid, manganese salt could be ignited applying a flame as ignition source. The test item burned over a distance of 200cm within 9 min and 15 s. The product neither has to be classified as readily combustible solid in class 4.1 according to the UN-Transport regulation and nor as flammable solid according to Regulation EC 1272/2008 (CLP).
Testing of flammability does not appear scientifically necessary according to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI, Section 1.
- Testing for flammability in contact with water (A.12) is not considered to be required, because 2-ethylhexanoic acid, manganese salt does not contain groups that might lead to a reaction with water or damp air, leading to the development of dangerous amounts of gas or gases which may be highly flammable.
- Testing of pyrophoric properties of solids and liquids (A.13) is not considered to be required, since 2-ethylhexanoic acid, manganese salt is stable at ambient temperature. It does not contain any chemical group that might lead to spontaneous ignition a short time after coming in contact with air at room temperature (approx. 20 °C)
