Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides
together with some hydrogen cyanide gas and soot. Powder,
water, carbon dioxide and foam are suitable extinguishing
agents. [UK c.a.: wear a self-contained breathing
apparatus.]

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Powder: Sweep up and dispose of at a landfill or
incinerator. Solution: Absorb spilt material and dispose of
by incineration or at a landfill site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid dust formation. If dust is produced, take suitable
precautions to avoid inhalation. Avoid contact with eyes
and skin, wear suitable protective clothing.

Storage: No speical precautions.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Residual dyestuff remaining after use cannot be recovered.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Material spilt in an accident may be disposed of at a
landfill site.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal by incineration is possible. Suitable waste gas
treatment to remove NOx and HCN should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is not readily biodegradable. The substance
will most probably be eliminated from waste water by
absorption on sludge. It is estimated that less than 5% of
the substance will remain unused. Waste water from dye
baths will contain approximately 200 ppm of substance which
will be diluted to 20 ppm before discharge.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: After application to a textile the substance cannot be
recovered.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dyed materials may be disposed of in the usual manner for
such items.
