Results and discussion

Effect levels
Sex:
male/female
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Effect level:
> 2 000 mg/kg bw
Mortality:
Male: 2000 mg/kg bw; Number of animals: 5; Number of deaths: 0
Female: 2000 mg/kg bw; Number of animals: 5; Number of deaths: 0
Gross pathology:
Effects on organs: No treatment-related macroscopic findings were observed.
Other findings:
Signs of toxicity (local): No deaths and no signs of toxicity were observed. Staining of the skin by the substance was seen in most animals between day 2 and day 5, and could have obscured any slight erythema. Most animals lost weight in the first few days, but all had exceeded their initial body weight by day 8 and continued to gain weight until the end of the study.
