Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the substance is estimated to be 0.2 Pa at 20ºC at 101.325 kPa based on read-across from an appropriate structural analogue.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.2 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure of an appropriate structural analogue, 3-(4-tert-butylphenyl)propionaldehyde (tradename Bourgeonal) was determined in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 104, EU Method A.4 and EPA OPPTS 830.7950 using the gas saturation method. Under the conditions of the test, the vapour pressure of the test material was determined to be 0.2 Pa at 20°C.

The study was performed in compliance with GLP and in accordance with recognised standardised guidelines, the study was assigned a reliability score of 2 in line with the principles defined in Klimisch et al (1997) as the study was performed on a structural analogue of the substance. Due to the structural similarities between the two substances, it was considered appropriate to use data from the source substance to represent the target substance (for further details see read-across justification document, attached in section 13).
