Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Appearance

The test item was observed to be a black solid.

Melting/freezing point

The melting temperature of the test item was determined to be over the range 32 to 45 °C (OECD 102 and EU Method A.1).

Boiling point

The boiling temperature of the test item was determined to be from approximately 302 °C (575 K) at 100 kPa. After heating to 400 °C, approximately 15 % of the test item had been lost (OECD 103 and EU Method A.2).

Relative density

The density of the test item was determined to be 1.19 x 10E03 kg/m3 at 23.0 ± 1.0 °C with a relative density of 1.19 (OECD 109 and EU Method A.3).

Granulometry

The study does not need to be performed because the test item is a low melting point solid for which determination of particle size distribution is inappropriate

Vapour pressure

The vapour pressure of the test item was determined to be 7.8 x 10E-02 Pa at 25 °C (298 K) and 23 Pa at 155 °C (428 K) (OECD 104 and EU Method A.4).

Partition coefficient

The partition coefficient of the test item was determined to be in the range 47.2 to 1.32 x 10E04 with a Log10 Pow of 1.67 to 4.12 (OECD 117 and EU Method A.8).

Water solubility

The water solubility of the test item was determined to be 0.566 g/L (monomer) and < 1 x 10E-04 g/L (dimers) (OECD 105 and EU Method A.6).

Surface tension

The study does not need to be conducted because, based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted.

Flash point

The test item was determined not to have a flash point below 300 °C (EU Method A.9).

Autoflammability / self-ignition temperature

The test item was determined to have an autoignition temperature of 554 ± 5 °C (EU Method A.15).

Flammability

The flammability (solids) test (EU Method A.10) was not performed as the test item, although a solid at room temperature, was shown to melt. over the range 32 to 45 °C. The fact that no definitive flash point was determined for the test item below 300 °C indicated that the substance would not be flammable while as a solid.

Explosive properties

The test item has been determined not to have explosive properties (EU Method A.14).

Oxidising properties

The result for oxidising properties was predicted negative based on the chemical structure of the test item EU Method A.21).
