Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Data waiving:
other justification
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid

Description of key information

non flammable
no pyrophoricity (EU Method A.13)
no flammability on contact with water (EU Method A.12)

not self-heating

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Based on flash point and boiling point the substance is a non flammable liquid.

The pyrophoricity of the substance was determined according to EU Method A.13. The substance was found to possess no pyrophoric properties. The flammability on contact with water of the substance was determined according to EU Method A.12. The substance was found to be non-flammable on contact with water. As a liquid not adsorbed on a large surface, it is not self-heating.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on flammability of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification:

Based on flash point and boiling point the substance is a non flammable liquid.

Based on the test results, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water was not observed. The substance is not self-heating, because it is a liquid not adsorbed on a large surface.
