Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:
Mandarin oil is a Natural Complex Substance (NCS) for which 97% of the constituents is identified. All identified constituents including those known down to 0.1% are considered for the PBT-vPvB assessment. For one constituent (1%) no data on biodegradability is available, but it is expected to be readily biodegradable. Therefore none of the known constituents of Mandarin oil  meet the criteria for P/vP laid down in Annex XIII of REACH. Therefore none of the known constituents of Mandarin oil meets the criteria for vPvB or PBT.

Persistence assessment

Up to 96% of the composition of this NCS is known and are in the category of ready or rapidly biodegradable substances. For one constituent (1%) no data on biodegradability is available, but it is expected to be readily biodegradable. Therefore the substance Mandarin oil is considered as readily biodegradable. Thus none of the known constituents of Mandarin oil are considered P (or vP).

Bioaccumulation assessment

Further B/vB assessment is not relevant as none of the known constituents of Mandarin oil are P (or vP).

Toxicity assessment

None of the known constituents of Mandarin oil meet the criteria for P/vP. Therefore it can be concluded that none of the constituents are PBT or vPvB without further evaluation of the T properties.

Likely routes of exposure:

Investigation of the likely routes of exposure is not needed as the substance is not PBT or vP/vB.
