Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Pyrophoric solids
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.
Pyrophoric liquids
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.

Any other information on results incl. tables

Rate of burning (over 200 mm) : N/A.

From the preliminary screening test the sample was seen not to ignite, therefore further testing is not required.

On heating the sample glows red when in contact with the ignition source and emits large quantities of dark red smoke, no propagation along the sample train was observed.

Dust Explosion Risk

Explosion severity (20 litre sphere):

Maximum explosition pressure Pmax (bar g) : 7.3

Kst value (bar.m.s-1) : 81

St class : 1

The 20L sphere test gave a Pmax of 7.3 bar and a Kst value of 81 bar.m.s-1 therefore the sample falls into the lower region of the St 1 classification or low explosition severity potential.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
It has been determined that Iodixanol is not highly flammable.
