Justification for classification or non-classification

The irritation potential to skin was investigated acc. to OECD 404 in rabbits. The test item did not elicit any skin reactions at the application site of any animal at any of the observation times (all scores 0). Therefore, no classification is warranted.

The primary irritation potential of Hostavin N 20 - Hydrochlorid was investigated according to OECD 405 in rabbits. The instillation of the test teim in eyes resulted in ocular changes such as reddening and swelling of the conjunctivae, reddening of the sclerae, opacity of the cornea and ocular discharge. The observed effects were partially up to the highest severity score and not reversible. Based on the effects observed, Hostavin N20 -Hydrochlorid should be classified as R41.
