Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two studies were performed according to ISO Guideline 10253, OECD 201 and GLP guidelines.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
48 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
15 mg/L

Additional information

A marine study was performed with Radiagreen 0980/7831. a 1:1 mixture of radiagreen RA 7831 (i.e. Radia 7838) and Radiacid 0980 (i.e. Fatty acids, C18 -unsatd., trimers, with CAS 68937 -90 -6 and EC 500 -239)

72h EC50 >1000 mg/l. This mixture is what might actually be marketed in the future, but this mixture is not the substance as registered. A freshwater study was performed with Radia 7838 and showed a 72h EC50 for growth rate reduction at > 48mg/L (which was the maximum that could be measured in the solution), a 72h EC50 for yield inhibition of 22 mg/L (95% confidence of 21 -24 mg/L), and a NOEC for growth rate reduction and yield inhibition of 15 mg/L. The tests were performed at above the water solubility of Radia 7838 (<1 mg/L) and nominal and measured levels varied significantly. The maximum measured level in the test was 48 mg/L, with the EC50 for growth rate reduction not yet being reached.
