Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Justification for type of information:

Testing for EC 701-472-7 is covered by tests with CAS 848588-96-5. Both substances are very similar since they differ mainly in the share of C13 (CAS 848588-96-5 C13> 80%; EC 701-472-7 > 95%). Hence, read across from CAS 848588-96-5 (source) to EC 701-472-7 (target) is considered as appropriate for both substances.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
GLP compliance:
no
Percentile:
D50
Mean:
>= 30 - <= 40 mm
Remarks on result:
other: optical characterization(migrated from fields under 'Mass median diameter' as D50 percentile. No source field for Standard deviation.)

Due to the pasty product properties of the test item Sodium bis(C11-14-isoalkyl, C13-rich) sulfosuccinate the particle size cannot be determined by sieving. Optical characterization indicated that the particles had a size of 0.2 to 4 cm with the main particle size in the range of 3 -4 cm.

Executive summary:

In the non-GLP Klimisch 1 study from Bütfering (2013) the particle size distribution of Sodium bis(C11-14-isoalkyl, C13-rich) sulfosuccinate was intended to be determined by sieving.
