Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The registered substance was non-pyrophoric below the melting point (231.3℃).
Executive summary:

-Objective

The Self-ignition Temperature of C18K was determined for supplying data for its environmental assessment.

-Test guideline

According to the guidelines for the testing of chemical (HJ/T 153-2004). "EU Regulation on the Testing Methods for REACH" A. 16.

-Test method

The 8000 mm3 wire mesh cube of stainless steel wire was filled with the test sample, and then it was placed in chemical ignition temperature tester and was heated up to 400℃ at the rate of 0.5 ℃/min. Sample temperature and oven temperature were recorded.

-Results

There was not obvious rise in sample temperature with regard to oven temperature until the sample temperature reached the melting point.
