Study design

Oxygen conditions:
aerobic
Inoculum or test system:
activated sludge, non-adapted
Details on inoculum:
- Source: The inoculum was derived from the secondary effluent of
Tamsui Sewage Treatment Plant. Collect fresh sample and keep it aerobic
during transport. The inoculum was used as 100 mL /L in mineral medium.
-Test condition: The test groups were stirred in air-tight flasks, and the
measurement was in dark at 21 ± 1℃.
-The inoculum was pre-conditioned by aerating the secondary effluent, without
other treatment or addition, for 7 days at the test temperature

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
readily biodegradable
Conclusions:
This study following the test guideline of OECD 301 F was to evaluate the possibility of test article consumed by microorganisms under aerobic conditions.
At the end of the test, the average BOD score of test article “Menthadienol (PMDOL)” was 2.20 (mg O2/mg). The percentage biodegradation reaches 77.46% of ThOD within 28 day period in a 10-day window.
Under the conditions of this study, the test article met the requirements of the ready biodegradability.
