Description of key information

Sodium lauryl lactylate (SLL) is predicted to be readily biodegradable by the (Q)SAR model BIOWIN v4.10. In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) Annex VIII, column 2, a hydrolysis study is therefore not required.

The partition coefficient was estimated at log Kow = 1.1 (QSAR prediction). Therefore, SLL has no significant potential for bioaccumulation (log Kow ≤ 4.5).

The estimated Koc value of 205.6 L/kg for sodium lauroyl lactylate is moderate and suggests a moderate adsorption potential of the substance to solid phases in soil and sediment in aquatic ecosystems.
