Additional information

For the assessment of the aquatic hazard of 2,2,6-trimethyl-a-propylcyclohexanepropanol (CAS 70788-30-6), GLP guideline studies are available for the short-term toxicity to all three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae), for the long-term toxicity to aquatic algae as well as for the toxicity to activated sludge microorganisms. For short-term aquatic toxicity, aquatic invertebrates are the most sensitive trophic level with an EC50 (48 h) of 0.696 mg/L, while no acute effects were observed toward fish and aquatic algae up to the saturation limit (0.999mg/L, 1000 µg/L). No long-term toxicity to aquatic algae was recorded. Furthermore, no inhibition of activated sludge respiration was recorded up to the saturation level (1000 mg/L).
