Calibration

The pressure readings and the calculated volume for the reference and sample cells are shown

in the following table:

determination P1 (psig) P2 (psig) P3 (psig) P4 (psig) reference cell
volume (cm3)
Sample cell
Volume (cm3)
1 17.088 6.47 17.91 8.879 90.64 148.751
2 17.917 6.79 18.338 9.09 91.026 149.167
3 18.016 6.826 18.508 9.175 90.916 149.041

Mean reference cell volume : 90.861 cm3

Mean sample cell volume : 148.986 cm3

As the reference cell volume and sample cell volume were within the defined tolerance

(90.953 ± 1.0 cm3 and 149.225 ± 1.0 cm3 for the reference and sample cell volumes

respectively) the gas comparison pycnometer was therefore considered acceptable for use.

Mean density : 1.95 x 103 kg/m3

Relative density : 1.95

Temperature : 20.0 ± 0.5 °C

Discussion

Duplicate determinations were performed to ensure a reproducibility of less than ± 20 kg/m3

was obtained.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Conclusion
The density of the test item has been determined to be 1.95 x E3 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C and a
relative density of 1.95.
Executive summary:

1.95 x 103 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 1.0 °C, relative density of 1.95, by gas comparison

pycnometer, designed to be compatible with Method A.3 Relative Density of Commission

Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 109 of the OECD Guidelines for

Testing of Chemicals, 02 October 2012.
