3 min
at the temperature of:
10 °C

Additional information

Titanium tetraisopropanolate is hydrolytically unstable at all pH and temperature conditions determined by using OECD 111 in accordance with GLP (key study, Scholz T. 2010). The hydrolytic stability was tested in buffered aqueous solutions at pH 4.0, 7.0, and 9.0 at temperatures of 10°C, 25°C, and 50°C for 3 hours. The progress of the hydrolysis was followed by monitoring isopropyl alcohol, the main degradation product of the substance. Recoveries of isopropyl alcohol for samples taken at time points between time 0 and 3 hours were used to evaluate the hydrolytic stability of the substance. It was demonstrated to be hydrolytically unstable at all pH and temperatures evaluated in this study. Only hydrolysis at 10°C and pH 4.0 and 9.0 gave sufficient data, before equilibrium was reached, to calculate a reaction half-life. At these conditions a half-life of less than 3 minutes was determined.

This study was considered as reliable without restrictions and hence used as a key value for hazard assessment and classification and labeling of the substance.
