DiPE triisononanoate triethylhexanoate (CAS No. 68443-84-5) is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Based on one GLP study according to OECD 301B a degradation of 18.5% after 28 days is observed (Muckle, 2012). The study was prolonged up to 60 days; the pass level of 60% CO2 evolution, however was not reached. After 60 days 28% biodegradation based on CO2 evolution was observed. Therefore in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, the substance is regarded as very persistent (vP). The toxicity controls showed that no inhibition of aquatic microorganisms occurred (29 mg/L test material concentration).
