Test A

The test was conducted in an open aluminium crucible. The sample was observed to undergo an endothermic event from 185.7C which and a heat of melting of 52.6 J.g-1. On completion of testing a blackened sample with black residue remained.

Test B

The test was conducted in an open aluminium crucible. The sample was observed to undergo an endothermic event from 182.6C which and a heat of melting of 51.9 J.g-1. On completion of testing a blackened sample with black residue remained.

Test C

The test was conducted in an open aluminium crucible. The sample was observed to undergo an endothermic event from 185.5C which and a heat of melting of 52.2 J.g-1. On completion of testing a blackened sample with black residue remained.

Result : 185°C (mean of 3 runs)

Conclusions:
The boiling point of the test item was found to be: 185°C (mean of 3 runs)

Description of key information

 The boiling point of the test item was found to be: 185°C (mean of 3 runs). However it can be concluded that all MDI substances decompose at higher temperature and hence no true boiling point can be
determined.
