Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish: OECD 203:

In a GLP compliant, guideline 96 hr acute toxicity test the test substance induced acute mortality when carp were exposed to a WAF prepared at 100 mg/l, containing an estimated test substance concentration of 20 mg/l. The 96h LC5O for carp exposed to the test substance was estimated to be between 10 mg/l (WAF prepared at 56 mg/l) and 20 mg/l (WAF prepared at 100 mg/l), with 0% mortality at 10 mg/l and 100% mortality at 20 mg/l. Since the terst substance was considered to be insoiubie in water and the concentrations in the WAF's were based on indirect measurements, the estimated concentrations have only limited relevance to the actual exposure concentrations.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: OECD 202:

In a GLP compliant, guideline 48hr acute toxicity test to Daphnia magna the test substance did not induce acute immobilization of Daphnia magna at WAFs prepared at 18 mg/l or lower. Based on the analytical results, this corresponded with an estimated concentration of 3.6 mg/l. Based on the analytical results, the estimated exposure concentrations in the WAFs corresponded with Ca. 20% relative to the prepared concentrations. Hence, the estimated 48h—EC50 was 6.8 mg/l, i.e. corresponding with a WAF prepared at 34 mg/l.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria,:OECD 201:

In a GLP compliant, guideline 72 hour acute toxicity test to aquatic algal speciesScenedesmus subspicatusthe test substance gave an EbL*50 (72 h) value of 26 mg/l loading rate WAF; 95% confidence limits 22 -31 mg/l loading rate WAF and an ErL*50 (0 - 72 h) value of 56 mg/l loading rate WAF; 95% confidence limits 50 -62 mg/l loading rate WAF.

The No Observed Effect Loading rate at 72 hours was 12.5 mg/l loading rate WAF.

Toxicity to microorganisms: OECD 209 GLP study:

In a GLP compliant guideline Activated Sludge, Respiration Inhibition Test the effect of the test material on the respiration of activated sewage sludge micro-organisms gave a 3-Hour EC50 of greater than 1000 mg/l. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) after 3 hours exposure was 1000 mg/l.
