First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest. Obtain medical attention if ill effects occur.

Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. If symptoms (irritation or blistering) occur obtain medical attention.

Eye Contact: Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Obtain medical attention.

Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300ml of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting as a First-Aid measure. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media (suitable): foam, CO2 or dry powder. Water spray should be used to cool containers.

Extinguishing Media (unsuitable): -

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Flammable liquid and vapour. Combustion or thermal decomposition will evolve toxic, corrosive and flammable vapours.

Special protective actions for fire-fighters: A self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in fire conditions. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Ensure suitable personal protection during removal of spillages. See Section 8. Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so.

Environmental Precautions: Prevent entry into drains, sewers or watercourses. Collect spillage.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Absorb spillages onto sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material. Do not adsorb onto sawdust or other combustible materials. Transfer to a container for disposal. Wash the spillage area clean with water and detergent. Avoid release to the environment. .

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe vapour/spray. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:        Keep container tightly closed, in a cool, well ventilated place. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, well

ventilated place away from sources of ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene lined steel drums.

Disposal considerations

Chemical DisposalWaste treatment methods:       Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or national legislation.  Waste, even small quantities, should never be poured down drains, sewers or water courses.  This material and/or its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste.  Normal waste disposal is via incineration operated by an accredited disposal contractor.

Contaminated Packaging: Empty container will retain residue. Observe all hazard precautions.
