Description of key information

Hydrolysis

No significant hydrolysis (≤ 10 %) was observed in the preliminary test at 50 °C for all tested pH values (4, 7, 9) of guanylurea phosphate. This indicates a half-life period of Guanylurea Phosphate at 25 °C of more than 1 year (t 1/2 at 25°C). Thus, the test substance Guanylurea Phosphate was considered to be hydrolytically stable and a further testing (Tier 2 experiments) (according to OECD guideline 111) was not required.

Biodegradation

No degradation of the test item could be observed during the test duration. The mean degradation at the end of the test (28 d after acidification) was -3.6% (mean of three replicates). The test item did not reach the criteria for ready biodegradability (60% of ThCO2 within a 10-d window). The degradation of the toxicity control after 14 days was >25%. The test item had no inhibitory effect on the inoculum according to the criterion of the guideline.
