Description of key information

airtight storage required, GOS slowly reacts with CO2 and H2O in air

observations made in

IR: Increasing absorptions appearing with increasing time show the influence of contact with air and can probably be assigned to reaction products of Gd2O2S with CO2 and H2O in the air

Granulometry: slow chemical alteration in contact with water

In the granulometry a slight tendency of agglomeration of larger particles is observed, which might be due to the small amount of water contained in the dispersion agent causing a chemical alteration of the particles’ surface and particle agglomeration after several minutes.
