Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The key study (KS_Modified MITI Test (I)_1994) was conducted according to the “Study on Degradation of Chemical Substances by Microorganisms, etc.” described in “Methods of Studies on New Chemical Substances” (Kanpogyo Notification No. 5, Yakuhatsu Notification No. 615, and 49 Kikyoku Notification No. 392 issued on July 13, 1974) and is comparable to OECD Guideline 301C. Activated sludge (non-adapted) was incubated with the test substance at a concentration of 100 mg/L for 28 days.

Findings described below were obtained regarding degradation based on BOD and TC analysis.

Test solution Degradation based on BOD (%) Degradation based on TC (%)
No. 3 (sludge + test substance) system 86 100
No. 4 (sludge + test substance) system 91 (mean: 88) 100 (mean: 100)

Degradation of the test substance determined based on BOD and TC indicated that it is a readily biodegradable substance.
