Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The algal growth inhibition to Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, was carried out according to OECD 201 Freshwater Alga and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test and EU Method C.3 guidelines. A final test was performed based on the results of a preceding combined limit/range-finding test. Six replicates of exponentially growing algal cultures were exposed to untreated control medium, while three replicates per group were exposed to 10, 18, 32, 56 and 100 mg/L. The total test period was 72 hours and the initial algal cell density was 10^4 cells/ml. Samples for analytical confirmation of actual exposure concentrations were taken at the start, after 24 and 72 hours of exposure. At the start of the test, the actual test concentrations were in agreement with nominal (i.e. 81-93% of nominal). The concentrations decreased during the test. Therefore, effect parameters were expressed based on Time Weight Average (TWA) exposure concentrations (4.4, 8.6, 14, 27 and 50 mg/l). The 72h-NOEC for growth rate reduction based on TWA concentrations was 4.4 mg/L. The EC10 for growth rate reduction based on TWA was 12.0 mg/L (C.I. 9.7 - 15.0 mg/L). The EC50 for growth rate reduction (72h-ERC50) based on TWA concentrations was 34 mg/L (C.I.: 31 – 38 mg/L).
