Additional information

Acute toxicity to fish:

Three WoE studies on freshwater fish are available:

Knie 1983 (DIN 38 412 part 15): LC50 48 h: 106 mg/L (Leuciscus idus)

ABC Laboratories (EPA-660/3-75-009): LC 50 96h: 75 mg/L (Salmo gairdneri )

ABC Laboratories (EPA-660/3-75-009): LC 50 96h: 75 mg/L (Lepomis macrochirus )

The ABC studies were conducted with maleic anhydride which hydrolyzes under test conditions. As a result, maleic acid and its salts are believed to be the test materials investigated in this study. A LC50 of 75 mg/L for freshwater fish was taken as a worst case.
