Description of key information

Category members are gases and if released in the environment will partition predominantly to the atmosphere where they would quickly photooxidise. Therefore, even though the category members are not considered to be readily biodegradable and are unlikely to hydrolyse they do not to meet the criteria for persistence. They are expected to have low potential for bioaccumulation and adsorption to soil and sediment based on their lower log Kow values ranging from 2.09 to 2.31. Representative substances for the category have a high Henry's Law Constant indicating that they would volatilise rapidly from moist soil and water surfaces.
