First-aid measures

General advice:  Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Skin contact: Rinse with plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 10 minutes. If possible use lukewarm water. Consult a physician.

Ingestion: Obtain medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: Irritation

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media : Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Advice for firefighters:  Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health. In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Specific methods: In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Use rubber boots.

Environmental precautions:

- Restrict the spread of the spillage by using inert absorbent material (sand, gravel). Cover the drains.

- Must be disposed of in accordance with local and national regulations.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, sawdust). Shovel or sweep up. Transfer into suitable containers for disposal. Must be disposed of in accordance with local and national regulations. After cleaning, flush away traces with water.

Inform the rescue service in case of entry into waterways, soil or drains.  

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:  Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.  

Conditions for safe storage: Store at room temperature.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Ensure adequate ventilation.  

- Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

- Hand protection: Glove material: Chemical resistant gloves., Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).
