Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

This endpoint has been addressed with two studies, one key and one supporting.

In the key study (Oudhoff, 2016) the melting point of the test material was investigated in a study performed under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 102, EU Method A.1 and US EPA OPPTS 830.7200. The study has been assigned a reliability score of 1 in line with the principles for assessing data quality as defined by Klimisch et al. (1997).

The melting point of the test material was investigated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).

Under the conditions of the study, the melting point of the test material was determined to be 25 °C (299 K) at normal atmospheric pressure.

The supporting study (Powers, 1969) was not performed to a standardised guideline and was performed prior to GLP. The data was provided as part of a toxicology study. There is not enough detail given in the report to accurately assign reliability and a score of 4 has therefore been assigned in line with the principles for assessing data quality as defined by Klimisch et al. (1997).

The test material formed a liquid when heated to 30 °C for the purpose of administration.
