First-aid measures

General information

In the event of an accident or sickness, ask for medical advice immediately (present user manual or safety data sheet if possible).

After inhalation

Move the affected person to fresh air. Keep the affected person calm and warm. In the event of discomfort, seek medical advice/medical help.

After skin contact

Remove mechanically (e.g. dab the affected skin areas with cotton wool and cellulose) and then wash thoroughly with water and a mild cleanser. Do not use any solvents or diluents. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. In the event of skin irritation or rash: seek medical advice/medical help.

After eye contact

Upon contact with the eyes, hold the eyelid open and rinse immediately for 10 to 15 minutes under running water and visit an ophthalmologist. Remove any contact lenses, if possible. Continue rinsing.

After swallowing

Rinse out the mouth. Administer sodium sulphate (1 tbsp in 1 glass of water) with plenty of activated carbon as a laxative. Do not induce vomiting. Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects:

Prolonged or repeated exposure to the preparation can lead to irritation of the mucous membranes and the skin, such as redness, blistering, dermatitis, etc. Sensitisation through skin contact possible.Other important symptoms and effects are not yet known.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media (suitable):

Carbon dioxide (CO2). Foam Fire-extinguishing powder. Adapt fire extinguishing measures to suit the environment

Extinguishing media (unsuitable): Water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Special hazards from the substance, or combustion products:

The inhalation of hazardous decomposition products resulting gases (carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulphur oxide, aromatic hydrocarbons) can cause serious harm to health.

Advice for fire-fighters

Special protective equipment:

Wear self-contained respiratory protective device and chemical protection suit..

Other information on fire-fighting

Do not let any extinguishing water into the sewer system, soil or water. Remove the product from the fire area. Cool closed containers that are near the fire source in water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Avoid inhaling dust/smoke/gas/mist/vapour aerosols. Respiratory protection must be used in cases of exposure to vapours and aerosols. Wear personal protective equipment (see chapter 8).

Environmental precautions

Avoid release into the environment. Do not allow in the sewage system or water. No not allow into the ground/soil. Contain and dispose of contaminated wash water. Inform the respective responsible authorities in the event of contaminated rivers, lakes or sewers, in accordance with the local laws.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Isolate leaked material using a non-combustible absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth) and collect it for disposal in appropriate containers in accordance with the local regulations (see chapter 13). Ventilate the affected area. Thoroughly clean contaminated objects and bottles in accordance with environmental regulations.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Avoid inhaling dust/smoke/gas/mist/vapour aerosols. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation and punctiform extraction at critical points. Flammable solvent vapours may accumulate in the vapour space of closed containers, especially when exposed to heat. They must therefore be kept away from fire and ignition sources.

Precautions

Pressure in tightly sealed containers may increase under the influence of heat. All packages and containers must be handled with care to avoid leakage.

Precautions against fire and explosion

Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Keep away from ignition sources. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces. No smoking.

Conditions for safe storage including any incompatibilities

Keep containers tightly closed and store in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Store under lock or only available to qualified personnel or their representatives. Hazardous areas must be marked out and labelled with the appropriate warning and safety symbols.

Information on combined storage

Do not store together with flammable or spontaneously flammable substances. Keep away from strongly acidic or alkali materials and oxidation agents. Keep away from food, drinks and animal feed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection

Respiratory protection must be used in cases of exposure to vapours, dust and aerosols. Particle filter device (DIN EN 14387). Recommended filter type: A.

Hand protection

Wear suitable protective gloves. Chemical protective gloves must be chosen depending on the MAC concentration and amount of the hazardous material. The material's penetration times and source properties must be taken into account. It is recommended that the chemical resistances of the aforementioned protective gloves for special use is clarified with the glove manufacturer.

Eye protection Wear protective goggles with side guard in accordance with EN 166.

Body protection Wear suitable protective clothing.

General protection and hygiene precautions

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. Wear suitable protective clothing, protective gloves and protective goggles/face protection at the workplace. Do not eat, drink or smoke at the workplace. Wash your hands before breaks and at the end of work.

Technical precautions/ Equipment requirements

Handle the substance in a predominantly closed system with exhaust air system. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

The product is stable if the provisions/information for storage and handling are observed.

Chemical stability

The product is stable if the provisions/information for storage and handling are observed.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

Risk of ignition.

Conditions to avoid

Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames.

Incompatible materials

Keep away from strong acids, strong bases and strong oxidising agents to avoid exothermic reactions.

Hazardous decomposition products

Decomposition products Carbon monoxide (CO), sulphur oxide, carbon dioxide (CO2), aromatic hydrocarbons

Disposal considerations

Remove according to local authority regulations. Consult the local waste disposal expert about waste disposal.

Disposal of contaminated packaging: Contaminated packaging must be treated in the same way as the substance
